THEOCRACY vs DEMOCRACY

I have read Tacca’s article and he has this Atheist bitterness. Most of them (atheists) have this satanic accusation spirit that heaps everything that goes wrong in our world on God.

To them, if God is all that powerful and not doing what they know is right, therefore he is not God and he does not exist.

However, Tacca and the likes should understand (if they are willing) a few things:

  1. God is a parent of an adult child who as a parent warned this adult child about the consequences of his (child) choices and the child makes the same choices and upon the consequences, this child blames the parent for having born him in this world.
  2. It is wrong for one classmate to set the exam for other classmates and then compare grades. The problem with Africa is not bad leaders as it is an imposed system of leadership. We cannot say Africa is not democratic like the Nordics are yet it is the Nordics who determine what a good democracy is and which one isn’t. I still think that the politics of Africa is ruined by the syllabus of the whites. The whites invented their own system of governance, why don’t they leave also to invent our own system of governance that suits us, for who we are? For instance Democracy (Greek: Demos = Public/People Kratos = Power/Rule). Before we consider democracy to read like John Wycliffe prologue to his Bible translation that read: The Bible is for the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We must ask: WHICH PEOPLE? When we say people power, which people exactly are we talking about especially if not every person will be in charge? The fathers of democratic government actually believed in ELITE DEMOCRACY, where a few (fortified) decide for many (peasants) .
  3. No serious Theologian will tell you that a Theocracy means God putting leaders in charge and taking them out. The Bible teaches of a theocracy only at the time of the wilderness where Israel was half a nation and half pilgrims. When they got to Canaan, these people were under chiefdoms (judges) for over 300 years. From that, they entered into Monarchism until they dissolved due to a series of exiles.

The argument that we Theologians make concerning God and Politics is not of a Theocracy but instead of GOD’S PROVIDENCE. God is the creator of this world and he is eternal. He does not sit in the universe and watch the events in this world on a large screen TV. Neither does he, in his authority, dictate and determine what to be and what not to be even though he knows everything from the past, present to the future. But since God created us freedom of choice beings, he lets us practice our volitional capacities to the maximum and as we choose, God does not influence our choices but works with what our choices bring into existence.

God is an actor in whatever happens on Earth just as the devil is. If we focus on the scene of crime we can see the contribution of Satan and at the same time see the participation of God in the same.

There is, therefore, nothing like a theocracy, Josephus Flavius coined the term (theocracy) based on his Judaism background of excessive hopes revolutionary and militant divine messiah.
