IS THERE A GOD?

Genesis 1:1 does not even dare ask whether there is God or not, for only a fool imagines there is no God (Psalms 14:1-3; 5:3:1).

Genesis 1:1 is interested in telling us that God is the Beginning (place) in which the whole universe is and the whole universe has its origin.

God is everything. He is not just the centre that holds, but even the centre that holds is in and by him. God is sovereign, God is immutable, and God is transcendent. God, unlike everything in the universe, has never BEGAN, but he is the BEGINNING.

To dismiss God as the BEGINNING of everything is to foolishly argue that things don’t BEGIN and therefore are not BEGAN.

Science knows that there is that UNKNOWN FIRST CAUSE and it is that FIRST CAUSE, unknown to science, that is known to us Christians as God. God is not just the first cause but the FIRST UNCAUSED CAUSE of every CAUSE.

In the field of philosophy known as Logic, this makes sense as opposed to arguing from the point of caused causes. God can attract all sorts of names including this am using here:

GOD but what we call God, the book of the exodus (Exodus 3) in the Bible addresses as I AM. God the great absolute I AM is the INDEPENDENCE upon which the universe DEPENDS. HE IS WHO HE IS.

It is because God is who he is that he has created all creatures and one of those creatures is the human being. The human being is the crown of all God’s creation for its liberty of THOUGHT and CHOICE. Only Humanity has the liberty to be as foolish as arguing and theorising that there is no God.

Only human beings have a freedom of choice whose extent goes as far as choosing against God himself as creator and cause (Genesis 3). God has the audacity and the moral authority to let us be, after-all we cannot go beyond or outside him.
While he is not pro-evil, He accommodates both evil and good (Genesis 2:17) and provides information to beings with a conscience like us to make informed choices.

And that is how we initiated an alternative to life which is DEATH.
God transcends time and damage to the extent that it is never too late or too early for him to do what he wants to do. God makes no losses, he holds no vigil, God is life and life eternal, God is not just powerful, he is the power itself. He speaks things into existence and he is a God who creates out of nothing (creatio ex nihilo).

Believing and knowing that there is God is for your own Good. It is a sign that you have taken the real questions of life seriously. It is a sign that you understand SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY. It is a sign that you now understand PHILOSOPHY. It is a sign that you are a thinker and a serious one.

Believing that there is no God is believing that there is no POWER. Believing that there is no God is denying the CAUSE and the CAUSED. To dismiss God is to dismiss authority altogether.

If there is no God, then there shouldn’t be any authority. No laws, no rules, no right and wrong. If there is no God, then there is no history, and the present is wrong and therefore no future.

This is why I subscribe to the Biblical Worldview. It is coherent and corresponding to all the laws of proper reasoning. The Bible only says:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

and then it says:

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good. (Psalm 14:1).

Listen my friend: BELIEF does not affect what it BELIEVES but instead affects the BELIEVER. Whether you believe that there is God or that there is no God, that will not change a thing about God but it has everything to affect and effect life and events around you.

You are wise to Believe that there is God and you are a fool if you believe there is no God.
