Righteousness

By Evelyn S. S.

If you are not righteous on Monday, you cannot be righteous on Saturday.

Righteousness is not a feeling, not a set of dos and donts, not something to touch and or see. Righteousness is a state or status of God.

It is a gift given through faith in Jesus Christ to us who believe. It is an eternal gift just as God is eternal. Not seasonal and not attributable to a day, week, month or any season.

Many people say that the Christmas season is a time to show love coupled with giving of gifts. The people we show love during that season will never appreciate love. To them it comes and goes.

Understand the post properly. Seasonal righteousness, doing something premafacie good, to put up a show, to act good on a given day or period, yet deep within you is filth. It is not righteousness to look or appear to be holy when entering church on the Sabbath and act holy through out the day.

That’s not righteousness at all. The vilest offender who is unrighteousness before men is the righteous of God because he exercises faith in Christ Jesus, the atonement for his sins and that faith is not acted.

That’s why we have a seemingly righteous person before the church board unrighteous before God because he does not believe, a requirement for righteousness.
