Let me begin by asking a logical question that will send people THINKING.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH DIVINATION IF IT IS SAYING THE TRUTH? DOESN’T IT THEN TRANSLATE INTO PREACHING? If the diviners stopped speaking on behalf of Satan and now spoke for God, are they satanic by profession or by practice?
Is Balaam serving the purpose that Balak paid for? Isn’t it the reason Balak is frustrated with Balaam?
Is Balaam still the shrink that Balak knew and actually hired with these results he is providing? Is Balak impressed?
Again, isn’t it true that when Satan is face to face with God he has no option but speak in subjection to God? Check out this event:
And when he came to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? (Mat 8:28-29).
It is like the demons are preaching the might of Jesus to the audience. The demons are telling the public that if you people fear us, we the demons shiver before this man Jesus.
Question, does this truth make the demons convert to Jesus or fugitives forever ?
In the book of Job, Satan is presented as a servant of Yahweh who, for some reason, asks for God’s permission to touch a specific candidate (Job). Putting aside the retribution principle, it looks like whenever God and Satan collide the devil is not only at the mercy of God but also at his (God) disposal.
Pastor, are you saying that sometimes God uses the Devil?
Not really but am saying that God is so sovereign that if people do not speak, stones in the New Testament will speak and donkeys in the Old Testament will speak.
Pastor, should I then consult these mediums, now that there are chances that God might circumstantially communicate through them?
Well, before we conclude whether God circumstantially allows and gives us license to use divination or even visit shrines for answers from him, there is another example I would like to point out.
In the book of Acts 16, there is a girl who is possessed with Satan and she follows the apostles, and she tells all the people that:
THESE ARE TRUE SERVANTS OF GOD BELIEVE THEM BUT PAUL AFTER A WHILE TURNS TO HER AND REBUKES THE DEVIL.
Watch that SATAN IS NOT LYING, HE IS SAYING THE TRUTH. But why does Paul turn around and rebuke this true divination? I will tell you why: Satan is misrepresenting the gospel. By him saying these men are people of God and what they are saying is true is blasphemous in this sense:
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ARE POWERLESS FACTS, THEY HAVE NO POWER TO EFFECT CHANGE. WHAT THEY ARE SAYING HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ME.
This a very big deception and one day I will visit it and in fact, it is implied in Numbers 24:25:
And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way. After all the God of Israel had used Balaam in, he never joined the movement, but went back to his gods.
It was as if he was circumstantially possessed by Yahweh to serve his purpose and go back to his paganism.
It is a very unfortunate thing to be used by God instead and after you have served the purpose you return to your original place.
Is anyone now thinking about this Balaam and Balak divination plot differently? Let me ask:
DO YOU POSSESS GOD OR YOU ARE WAITING TO CIRCUMSTANTIALLY BE POSSESSED BY GOD AND YOU RETURN TO YOUR PAGANISM AFTER?
