HAPPY NEW YEAR and greetings in the mighty name of our lord Jesus Christ. It is our tradition at iTiS Well of Worship Ministries every year to read the entire Bible. So we are back again with the experience this New Year of 2017. THE PLAN IS SIMPLE, WE WILL BE READING FOUR CHAPTERS PER DAY. THAT IS TWO IN THE MORNING AND TWO IN THE EVENING. The entire Bible has 1,189 chapter so if you divide that by 365 days then that means by December 31st you and I will have covered the entire Bible. We are three days into the reading now, and we are in Genesis 12. We want you to start from where we are. We are not late, we wanted the celebration dust to cool down. That is why we did not tell you in what you consider time. As you read, we will encourage you to post your comments, lessons, and questions for the entire team to benefit from your Bible study.
Personally, I have read the Bible 7 times and am doing my 8th. The more I read it, the more i discover my ignorance of it. God wants to speak to you. For God laments that his people are destroyed due to lack of knowledge and then he warns: Because you have refused to know…i will also reject not only you but even your descendants. As you may know, there are people in our world today who have constructed a truth world-view not on what the word of God says but:
- IT IS TRUE BECAUSE MY PASTOR SAYS SO
- IT IS TRUE BECAUSE MY RELIGIOUS DOCTRINES SAY SO
- IT IS TRUE BECAUSE THE THEOLOGIANS AND EXPERTS SAY SO
- IT IS TRUE BECAUSE THE SENIOR CHRISTIANS INTERPRET SO
The Bible says you shall know the truth and truth shall set you free, but how do we know the written truth without reading it? Because people are lazy in reading, those who are reading have taken advantage to regurgitate rotten things into the mouths and minds of those who do not read. Every cult in the world has a scripture for its rituals, be it carrying water, holy water jerricans, handkerchiefs, special days, etc. But do you know the context of every scripture you boast about? This is why i want you to read the Bible with us this year and as you read, i want you to pray. God bless you.
