THE SLAVE, THE BLOOD, THE CHILD

Paul borrowed that phrase to communicate a point. Christ has no SLAVES but children. Look at these texts:

Romans 6:16-22 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Now let us now look at what Paul says in Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Greek word for slave is DOULOS and Paul is consistent in chapter 6 in the way he uses it. He writes DOULOS but when it comes to chapter eight in talking about the Spirit, the very word that is translated SLAVES does not mean servant or service like that in chapter 6. However, it means BONDAGE. The word is: DOULEIAS (genetive singular feminine) which figuratively means being negatively and wrongfully owned with poor treatment. The closest translation would be BONDAGE.

Now Christians are not slaves to Christ but free servants to him, rendering free service. Meanwhile non Christians are slaves in bondage, tasked with Egyptian burdens day in day out. That is why the distinguishing factor of these two groups (slaves and servants) is their trademarks.

SLAVES = FEAR
SERVANTS = FAITH
Slaves are strangers and foreigners but only children can render free will service at their home.

So we Christians do whatever we do not to qualify to be children. We do whatever we do not even because we were born in there. We do all we do and not do what we don’t do because of who we are to the head of the family. WE ARE CHILDREN AND FAMILY MEMBERS. Our relationship with Jesus in not in what we do or not …it is rather in the BLOOD.

Let me demonstrate using the Bible the difference between a religious man and a Christian. A religious man is a slave purchased from the market place and the transaction was by silver, gold, and every corruptible jewellery, and he fits well in 1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

Religion is based on traditions and all its slaves serve to satisfy this corruptible value. They work hard building on sinking sand. Their relationship with God is an economic one. They are commodities on shelves merchandised by silver and gold to live in the traditions not the Gospel. And all religions and religious men are destined for corruption.For your future existence is determined by the value that purchased you… uhhhhhm!!! Kanve wano.

On the other hand, Christians were purchased not by any materialistic thing but by the blood. Our relationship with God is a blood relationship not materialistic one. 1 Peter 1:19 says: But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

We don’t have economic relations with Christ but we just share a DNA with him. We don’t have to do a thing to stay with him like slaves have to. RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH is a BLOOD BUSINESS. Righteousness by Faith plus works is SLAVERY. Do all your best and do it right and then die anyway.

Choose who you serve today. As for me and my house. We shall serve God our relative, not God the stranger boss. Before you worship God, first relate with him. And the only way to do that is through the BLOOD not through good works.
