THE “GOOD” SIDE OF Dr. STELLA NYANZI

HELLO!!! BUGANDA KINGDOM

SCENE

Recently a muganda university professor undressed in protest to what she considered injustices to her as an employee of a public university. Am among those who condemned her behavior and solution to the problem…I subscribe to the philosophy of inserting a key in a lock door or padlock as opposed to stripping naked and uttering obscenity to locks I can’t access their keys. However as we all know, the unfortunate bit of life is that: the end justifies the ‘means’, we ended up having a relatively unthinking members of our society condoning and justifying the means given that the office was opened, not by the nakedness but by those with a key but threatened and blackmailed by naked long huge boobs and a mass of an old belly rolled to thighs. For sure “the end justifies the means”.

WHO IS STELLA NYANZI?

Well to answer this question there are a lot of avenues each of us individually and corporately would take. Biological relatives to her have their version of who she is, her workplace too has, and the friends and family can provide us with a Stella we know or have never known in the one we know. As a very distant observer let me tell you who Stella objectively is. I can define Dr Nyanzi in four undeniable ways:

1-Dr Stella Nyanzi is a Woman (Gender)
2-Dr Stella Nyanzi is a Mother to Twins (Parenthood)
3-Dr Stella Nyanzi is a Muganda (Culture)
4-Dr Stella Nyanzi is a Queer Theorist (Profession)

I would like to bring it to your attention that human beings do whatever they do because of WHO THEY ARE, or at least WHO THEY WANT TO BECOME….that is true to all people (me inclusive), every act, word and imagination is very intentional. The approach and manner in what we intend to do depends so much on: our Gender, Parenthood, Culture, and acquired Profession.

The good side of Dr. Stella as a woman is that she acted like a woman…whenever women have a problem they undress..,we all saw the Amuru saga, and if you leave in Kampala or actually this world you know that for a woman to attract a man to her side she has to undress (fashion and style)…many go to clubs to see stripping women, and prostitution is a business that runs on exposing sexual parts….so that is how women (women in a crisis) be and behave.

The good side of Dr Stella as a parent exhibited in her as a parent first preparing his kids at home about the disaster that was about to occur. Before she undressed to the world, she undressed to her kids. You can judge her parenting but remember two things:1-in this stupid world, the end justifies the means and 2-you cannot give what you dont have. That is all Dr Stella Nyanzi had to pass on as a parent. Uhhhmm!!

The other good side of Dr Nyanzi in all this saga is that she is a muganda. And not only a muganda but a Nalongo muganda woman. The baganda people have a mythology surrounding one being a Nalongo (mother to twins) and they have an official ceremony of initiating twins into the clan, culture and community that is commonly known as: OKWALULA or OKUZINA abalongo. The ceremony has generally two sides…the spiritistic/mystical one (where some stuff i think the placenta is cut off wrapped and hanged in the corner of the house and it is believed whatever happens to it will affect the twins too. and the other side the social one…where the attendants dance, behave and act erotically… Undressing inclusive and of course sex on the scene inevitable.

That is why Dr. Stella Nyanzi continued to emphasize that she is a nalongo. She said again and again: NZE NDI NALONGO NJAKUWEMULA, (am a muganda mother to twins, I have all the rights to utter obscenities)… and yes she went ahead.

Keeping that in mind…I want you to look at this woman who undressed…she is a woman, she is a muganda, she is a mother to twins, and finally she is a doctor of SEXOLOGY major in QUEER THEORY. Now if you have been raised and groomed to believe in the mystification of a nalongo and okuzina abalongo…and then pick a career in Sexuality in queer theory, then we must applaud Dr Stella for leaving her knicker on.

Dr. Nyanzi studied the art of using your body to exploit your environment to your end. She is a Queer Theorist who has but one obligation: to defy both what is exclusively considered moral and all the cultural norms. This was therefore someone exercising and exhibiting his profession. If we judged her academically, she really has a case over any of us, most especially we pastors attacking her acts morally and spiritually. This was absolutely n academic exhibition at an academic arena.

We all must be aware of who we are, what we should study and why. Am convinced that the Buganda kingdom and its belief system contributed to a bigger percentage to what we witnessed at makerere University. The university of London picked up from where the Buganda culture had stopped and graduated the lady into a licensed stripper.

I dare the Buganda kingdom to come out and challenge what her daughter did, and at the same time maintain the okwalula and kuzina balongo cultic practice!!! The only logical challenge that the Buganda Kingdom can pose to Dr Stella is by accusing her as a Nalongo to have stripped for:
1-wrong reason (MISR locked office is not kwalula or kuzina balongo)
2-In a wrong place (Makerere university is not Mutesa Royal institute)
3-the occassion did not have Buganda official facilitators…(but mocking students and exploitive journalists).

I therefore call upon the Buganda kingdom to come out and release a statement on what their daughter did, after all she did all she did with the audacity of “am a muganda nalongo”…

We all must ask the stakeholders here to come out be objective but not subjective on this matter. Professor Rumba must not look at Dr. Stella as a daughter but as an employee. She behaved professionally let the University council also return the favor and behave professionally…if it has any image left to protect.
