Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has launched a “Free my Vote” campaign that will seek to boycott activities by Mr Yoweri Museveni and those of musicians deemed to be sympathetic to NRM.
Speaking at the FDC party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala Monday, Mr Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, the party spokesman, said the campaign, which will “be very peaceful” seeks to alienate those oppressing Ugandans.
“Starting this Thursday we will not be going to work every Thursday of the week and we call upon all Ugandans who voted for [Dr Kizza] Besigye to stay home that day. The home imprisonment will be in protest of the detention of Dr Besigye,” Mr Ssemujju said highlighting the continued detention of the party presidential flag bearer at his home in the far flange suburb of Kasangati in Wakiso District.
Mr Ssemujju also said they will be holding prayers at different party offices to pray for Uganda that he claimed continues to be held hostage.
“Every Tuesday will be going for prayers at every party offices putting on black,” he said.
Among others, party officials also asked Ugandans to boycott all Mr Museveni’s activities as well as those perpetuating his stay including musicians who campaigned for the National Resistance Movement flag bearer in the presidential elections.
“If they come to a function you all leave. If they play a Chameleon [Joseph Mayanja] song when you are in the taxi you leave. This is going to be a peaceful demonstration,” Mr Erias Lukwago, the Kampala Lord Mayor-elect and leader of the Truth for Justice pressure group said at the same press briefing.
NOW THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA KNOW WHO WISHES THEM WELL. Who wants to stay home without food because some select few did not achieve their personal dreams. Dear Ugandans do not be misled buoy these desperate politicians….go and work…let maintain the steady progress, and work for Uganda not for an individual. Uganda has been here for 30yrs with Museven and some are rich, others richer, and some are poor and others poorer to death. As it is in Uganda so it is in the USA, and trust me….there are beggars in Norway. …so go and work my friend….schools are soon coming for second term fees….don’t help these opportunistic politicians use you to gather more fame and amass wealth from foreign powers. Semujju and Erias Lukwago should resign from government offices and denounce all the emoluments… Before they make us sacrifice our week. Guys wake up
Ugandans did their role they voted for whoever they voted for…if there was rigging it wasn’t news for someone who has participated four times, Besigye knew there was rigging and as he Riggs so does his opponents…what was his plan. Secondly there is a procedural way of doing things in Uganda (that is if it is still a state)…go to court don’t come to our families and businesses… We have a future…your wife is in the UN working….she not here, your son is abroad, he is not here….aren’t they ugadans….???? In my mother tongue there is a saying that goes: UKUND’UMWANA KURUSHA NYINA ABAYENDA KUMURYA (WHOEVER LOVES A KID MORE THAN ITS MOTHER HAS INTENTIONS OF DEVOURING IT). If Mrs Besigye has never even made a statement about the state of her husband…. Who are we to die and go hungry with bills for Besigye.
Temutumanyiila…..we voted for you…..go and come up with a better and sensible theory…. This has exposed how not thinking the FDC party is….this party must hire brilliant people to think for it. How can you blackmail musicians, with whom did the musicians sign a contract with so that we default them, that they have betrayed us…these are business people, selling their talents…they sung for Museven just like other musicians were singing for FDC, should Museven also imprison all those who sing against his government… Which kind of leaders are you…..yye ngatwabawoona….!!! Am so disappointed. You continue exposing yourselves as poor leaders and in the process authenticating Museven. For sure this man Museven is a leader….you can tell by looking at his opponents.
How dare you blackmail and economically incite ugadans against each other!!! This is so devilish….and we must collectively reject this demon.
Bobi Wine does not support my government but he has a very good song that I pray every Ugandan listens to…..the song is SITUKA. Guys elections are over …let’s stop whining and go and work….whether you were cheated or not ….go and work. Other sensible politicians are in court seeing how they can get money, others are at home seeking sympathy and once they are let out they come to the streets to spoil work.
Kuend uko…in fact the KEY is designed only to lock progress.
